Lieven Vandendriessche is the owner of Limara, located in Waregem, Belgium,
a breeding center for parakeets and parrots. For many years, he has intensively kept
and bred all sorts of parakeets and parrots. When we look a bit closer to his collection, we
notice that we have to do with a real specialist, who spent here a lot of his time and knowledge.
His collection consists of different sorts of couples of amazons, among which the real magna,
cockatoos, such as the Philippine, Moluccan and Major Mitchell cockatoos, macaws and next to these
also some exclusive parakeet species, such as the Queen of Bavaria, horned parakeet and the yellow King parrot.

Lieven Vandendriessche: "To score success with these birds, food is of
vital importance.
It really took me a lot of time to acquire the correct diet, but thanks
to Orlux and Versele-Laga,
I succeeded in providing my birds with the optimal diet. The
Orlux Eggfood dry large parakeets + parrots is perfectly balanced and thanks to the coarse structure and the
extras (rowan berries, rosehip, raisins and dried insects) it's perfectly adjusted to
the needs of these birds. I prepare my eggfood with germinated seeds, fruit and towards the
breeding period, I also mix it with Insect patee. This gives an extra animal protein dosage,
which is indispensable for the reproduction of these bird species."
