Half a century of experience
Orlux has been active for more than 50 years already in the world of bird nutrition. The continuous striving for innovation and improvement of bird feed makes Orlux a renowned trademark in the domain of eggfood and softbills.
For over 15 years, Orlux belongs to Versele-Laga. After the take-over, Orlux developed extremely well through the dynamism of its range and the exportation of its products to 60 different countries worldwide. Through this dynamic, the plant at that time in "Roeselare" became too small already very soon.
In order to obtain the necessary capacity, the construction of a new production unit in Ooigem was decided in 1995. In 1997 the location in the centre of Roeselare was left and a new building along the channel "Roeselare-Leie" in Ooigem was inaugurated. Here, the most advanced technologies, adopted from the food processing and packaging industries, were applied. This meant the complete breakthrough and we may say that Orlux has become 'number 1 in the world' of its domain today.
Science and practice
For birds, nutrition is of crucial importance. The successful keeping and breeding of birds will stand or fall with it. All the products of the Orlux range result from a long and intensive collaboration between science and practice with prominent top breeders at international level as well as in our own Pet Research Center.
Strict quality requirements
The Total Quality Control (TQC) is of paramount importance in the company philosophy of Orlux. Already from the foundation, the well-being of the birds and the bird fanciers' satisfaction are essential. Today, this is reflected in a very severe quality manual, drawn up according to the principles of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Moreover, all the Orlux products are produced with fresh ingredients, which are only intended for food. This guarantees a constant and high quality of the finished products.
Specialized product ranges
For keeping and breeding of seed-eating birds, it is not enough to feed them with seeds only. If you want to keep birds in a perfect condition and obtain excellent breeding results with them, it's absolutely necessary to add eggood to their daily ration. This is why Orlux offers dry as well as ready-for-use eggfood.
Moreover, Orlux also offers a wide range of softbills. This food for fruit- and insect-eating birds is especially adjusted to the needs of these birds. And it appears that the birds very much appreciate the use of 100 % natural honey. In order to complete the assortment, Orlux also manufactures special nutrition for nectar-eating birds.
We have your bird's health at heart! Our quality food and specialities guarantee a healthy staple diet for all your birds. During some periods (a.o. the breeding and moulting period, the exhibitions) however, the metabolic processes of the bird can be influenced in such a way, that supplements are really necessary. For more than 50 years, Orlux has been serving all bird fanciers. Professional bird carers in big bird sanctuaries - such as the German Weltvogelpark Walsrode, or the Loro Parque in Tenerife - have chosen for Orlux.
